Default Tune up costs?

Hi my fellow Jaguar owners,

so my question is: How much is the average price for a tune up for a 2011 Xf? I just want to make sure I’m being charged fairly
Thank you and I appreciate any feedback

Hi,
This is the X260 forum for models after 2015, there's a X250 forum on this website where you may find more help.

I don't think modern computer-controlled cars need, or can have, a "turn-up". Tune-ups used to be replacing distributor points, re-setting the engine timing, adjusting the carburettor(s) to ensure the air-petrol (gas) ratio was correct, replacing the spark plugs and air filter.
With computer controlled ignition and fuel injection all you can do on a modern car is replace the spark plugs and air filter - and modern spark plugs are often good for 100,000 miles anyway.
So any garage/shop/dealership that offers a "tune-up" for more than the cost of the air filter and maybe the spark plugs, plus around 1 to 2hrs labor maximum, is trying it on!
