Default Windscreen Fluid Leak

Hi, new to the forum, I have a quick question relating to the windscreen washer system which I’m hoping you can help me with.

A couple months ago it sprung a leak which my garage couldn’t initially find. A couple visits later they found a split in the union behind the bumper. They are waiting for jag to get in touch with the price of the replacement part.

if they are contacting jag I suspect it may be more expensive than it needs to be but googling the description they used I can’t find anything. Is anyone able to tell me what part they are referring to and somewhere I could try and source it?

I have a 62 plate xf 2.2 diesel.

thanks

Majority of the components of a car's windshield washer system don't normally wears off or breaks for the life of the car. The motor in it is the only component that will but if used on a non-regular basis, it'll also last for the life of the car. Dealers don't normally stock spare parts that are not in demand. Sorry, I cannot answer your question where to find a part for your windshield washer fluid. Go to eBay, perhaps you'll find a new one and if you can't find one buy a used spare part as a last resort

the question is more what is the part that they are referring to? They said the union behind the bumper but I can’t find anything of that name. I saw a video where it appeared the pipes join behind the bumper?do they? Could it be the component that joins them together? I accept I could be barking up the wrong tree as I’ve not taken off the bumper myself and had a look

My 2018 XF's windshield washer fluid reserviour is located at the very end of the engine compartment nearing left fender. If Jaguar engineers routed the connections going to the bumper area, it is a much longer route to the windshield washer. If the leakeage is in the bumper area, my guess is, could it be the connection to the Headlight washer they are talking about? Are you in Europe? Here in the USA, the XFs and other Jaguar models (as far as I know) does not come equipped with Headlight washers.

I’m in the uk. I believe there are headlight washers yes, not that I’ve ever paid much attention to them on use

Look on your bumper just below the headlights and you'll see covers for the headlight washers that pop out when activated.
