XF Dome light not working

Just purchased a 2017 Jaguar XF and none of the interior lights come on when the door is opened. Digging around on the forums pressing the center light for 5 seconds switches between manual/auto modes. However in my case the front center dome light does not come on when touched - the driver/passenger ones work fine. Pressing it for 5 secs makes no difference. I have tried a reset - battery disconnected for a few hours, again no change.
I am guessing there in an issue with the front overhead console but was wondering if anyone had other suggestions

It had the same behavior with the engine running, however it just started working to some degree. Dome light now operates and I can switch between modes. But the interior lamps turn off immediately when the door is closed. According to the manual they are supposed to stay on for 60s or until the engine is started -

Your car is a 2017, possibly still has the OEM battery? If it still is, have it check by your local auto parts store that sells car batteries. Here in Houston, they test it free of charge (both alternator & battery), I don't know in NY. My take on this is upon reading from both Jaguar and Land Rover forums, these vehicles are equipped with sensitive electrical components that will drive you crazy if a cell in a battery is dead. It's worth a try, at least you will know the current state of your car's battery. If not in use for several weeks, have it hook up with a tender. Good luck
