XF ( Premium- Auto)full shut when slowing down or stopped at lights
Hi all,
I am wondering has anyone come across this problem.
My car when stopped at light, junction ect, shuts down completly when I am about to take off.
I've had it at the garage, while it is storing a stop/ Start error ( once), they have not found the cause.
Has anyone any idea or experience with this?
Thanks

Hi:
Just to clarify your question, are you talking about the automatic feature that kills the motor when you come to a stop? You can disable that feature by pressing the button on your console twice. That's temporary, you can disable the feature totally by disconnecting the power supply to that computer module, up behind the access port on the right side of your trunk's interior. There is a long discussion thread here in the archives on that subject.
Assuming you knew about the automatic feature, your description sounds so much like a malfunction of that feature that I would recommend disabling that computer module just to see what happens.
Good luck, and do report back with your resolution.

Thanks for the response,
I have been disabling the feature , initially I thought this was working, but now its happening regardless of being disabled.
When I say full shut down , The vents rotate and close down even in "D", so I have to wait for it to finish powering down to be able to move to "N" & hit the start button.
its very frustrating.
One garage have suggested I may need a complete servicing of the transmission , if I were sure this was the cause I would go ahead - the lack of clarity on the source could send me down expensive rabbit holes.
Thanks again, and when I get there I will post the result in case anyone else needs it.
I will look up the previous threads as well
