**Pokes head in** "Hi I'm new here can I come in?"
Hi people, my first post ever in this section of the forum, what brings me here? Well I've just treated myself to an XFR, picking it up next and already getting sleepless nights. I've been a long standing XJ owner and other Jag's and fancied something fresh and missed the power of a big engine after owning the 275PS diesel for nearly 2 years.
So hi, would appreciate any pointers or things to look at for in my first few months of ownership from your past experiences.

Looks great! Welcome. Lots of us on here with the XFR / SC model. So plenty of experience with mods
I'd say drive it for a month or so, enjoy and then decide what to do. Mina exhaust and some window tint (maybe it has already). Ceramic pads.
Does it have good service history? If not, do a full fluids change. Particularly oil
Enjoy!

It has full Jaguar service history.

Drove the XFR home finally after many nights of absolute ****e sleep, it went like a dream, first 25 miles I took my time (granny mode), B roads only 45-60mph only - averaged 33.6 MPG very very happy with that, the final 25 miles I let her rip a bit, several times, my cheeks went red in the end from stress - the performance is blistering and is going to take a while to master her it's an absolute beast. It scares me to open her up below 40mph or on anything other than a dead straight smooth road. On the driveway at home the MPG read 26.5 - not bad at all.
Filled up with petrol straight away when I collected it, a skin head comes out the shop after paying for his feul, all his tattoos spelt wrong, "that's *** on wheels that m8, 500bhp?".
"Yeah I said, only bought it 10 mins ago"
"Don't shread the back wheels" he said.
I start the car up and it pops and cracks as the rev's come back down to idle, his eyes nearly popped out, sure I could see a bulge in his pants (not that I was looking ).
Many smiles on the way home, it sounds so sweet, the engine is an absolute pleasure and effortless, and comming from a X351 it's pritty comfy as well, yeah ok not quite the same level, it doesn't have that boat cruising feeling to it the XJ does. But it isn't far behind in all honesty and I didn't expect it to be as nice to drive.
Full detail day tomorrow I've got a couple of bird **** marks to try and get out, follow by full claybar and DA run round. Will get some pictures of the finished product hopefully.

It's a thing of beauty and a joy, really like the black XFR's. Heck, I like all XF's for that matter.
I'll still have to wait some years for the XFR's to depriciate, can't afford one what with the import taxes in Finland (for a '12 XFR with ~50k miles you're looking at ~15k import tax).
Safe miles and enjoy the ride! Don't slide into a curb or anything ridiculous like that, not that I have experience of such...

That's a seriously bad looking beast alright. I know what you mean regarding the transition from cruiser to sports sedan. I drove a 4.0 litre petrol XJ6 sovereign for the last six years and only changed it in January for a 3.0D XF.
My XF would be a poor substitute for your bad boy, but I love it. I can throw it around my local country roads (but not dangerously) in comparison to the wallowing and wafting ride of the XJ. The XF sticks to the road and has almost just as much get up and go, despite being a diesel and 1 litre smaller.
It's a whole lot cheaper to tax @ €750 as opposed to €1,800 per annum and I'm averaging 41 mpg as opposed to 25. So, no complaints. And it still gets admiring looks, which is nice.
Enjoy and welcome.
