Default 1/4 mile times?

I have a 2012 XF. I have seen some tests for the supercharged version, but Im wondering what type of times the 5L 380/385 engine puts out for 1/4 mile. I know Jaguar claims 0-60 in 5.5, but I havent seen any quotes for 1/4 times. Are you guys aware of any official testing?

Google's your friend . Presumably the '12 will post the same times as the '11 and '10 w/ the 5.0.

0-60 = 5.4
1/4 = 13.9 @ 102.5
IL Track Tested: 2009 BMW 550i vs. 2010 Jaguar XF

0-60 = 5.1
1/4 = 13.6 @ 106

0-60 times are all over the board with these cars so don't read into them too much.

With a one foot roll out. Etc etc. comparing acceleration runs done on the same basis at the same place and with due allowance made for temperature the runs can give useful information. Comparing one writer to another is pointless. The one article was written by a guy who didn't know how to switch off the DSC. I wonder if he actually knew how to drive? He was 0.2 seconds slower than car & driver.

Car and Driver acceleration times are always faster than others. It's been that way for decades! I'm hard pressed to remember an exception.

The C&D guys must be more experienced at flogging a machine :-)

I agree.

If you browse the many automotive forums, you tube, etc you'll find some people who positively live and die according to 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

ABC car will do the 1/4 mile in 13.50 seconds and XYZ car will do it in 13.38 seconds. Conclusion: ABC car is a pile of crap and anyone owning one is an idiot.

Really, it's shocking to read some of the conversations. Very acrimonious....often downright vile.

Cheers
