Hi gang, I'll cut to the chase. 2010 XF Premium (5.0) with 52k miles.

1. COOLANT: I've gone through a whole canister of coolant within a month. No leaks are apparent, but you can smell the coolant immediately after use (probably just evaporating while hot under use?). I have seen some steam twice after hard use from under the hood that quickly quit, but I had no other warning signs aside from Low Coolant Level coming on about once or twice a week. (Why aren't there temperature gauges in these cars?!!)

2. SQUEAKING BELT: Pulling off from a stop, I'll hear a squeaking from a belt that reminds me of when my 71 Mercedes' fan belt was loose in high school. Happens at random other times while driving as well, but doesn't seem to affect the performance.

3. KNOCKING NOISE: Over my right shoulder, while driving over regular roads, I'll hear a knockknock...knock...knock very light in the back. I have no idea what it is, but it soulds like a hard cable or something hitting the body panel. It corresponds with bumps in the road, but not always in direct relation; like, sometimes it happens in counter relation to bumps (if that makes sense).

4. BRAKES: Mine are low...I'm getting the warning sign. How little can I expect to pay to replace the pads?

I'm in Houston and have a supposedly super duper extended warranty so I'd like to find a good mechanic with whom I can work to eliminate these problems.
