Default '12 XFR Black Pack Conversion (Before/After) Pictures

I am not a big fan of chrome so I ordered all the glossy black trim pieces for my car from the dealership. Just picked it up and no complaints!! Love how the black flows. They ordered the wrong part for the driver side so that piece is still in chrome until next week when they will swap it out.

I had looked into the dip process but honestly speaking for the amount of money I spent on the car I couldn't convince myself on the dip process. Had to be OEM parts for me! It wasn't cheap but worth it!

I am not a big fan of black rims so didn't go with those. Personal preference.

I'd like to do the same to my car. What did they charge you at the dealership (if you don't mind me asking). Also, I was under the impression that the "black pack" was a package that included the rims and couldn't be purchased as separate components. Obviously I was wrong if you were able to avoid purchasing the rims. Car looks great by the way.

Thanks Guys!

It was $1823 in OEM parts and $425 in labor. 7 days to get shipped from UK. As mentioned not cheap by any means.

The only thing they couldn't convert to black was the rear chrome trim that runs across the trunk lid. My option with that is to dip or paint it. I don't plan on doing either.

You can go to:

2012 Jaguar Parts - Direct JPLV Porsche Parts.com

and piece all the parts together and then have your dealership price match. Mine did!

For my car it was a follows:

(1) Front Grille
(2) Front Lower Black Finish Covers

(2) Front Door Upper Window Trim
(2) Front Lower Window Trim
(2) Front Door Window Extension Trim
(2) Rear Door Window Trim

In all 11 pieces. The reason I had the dealership do all the work was because they warranty parts and labor for 2 years.

You can always order the parts and do it yourself or take to a indy body shop.

Also most dealership's will honor 15% off Parts & Labor for Costco members. My dealership price matched the parts and gave me 15% off labor.

Welcome to Costco Auto Program

Feel free to ask if you have anymore questions.

Jaguar mentioned that the door trim tends to warp so it's a one time use but one of the techs at the dealership is going to buy my OEM front grille. So I guess I will recover a little something something...

I prefer a little chrome on cars, but that looks pretty good......I like the front clip.

You should sell your old front grill on Ebay. You should be able to make back $300+. The car looks great!

Very nicely and tastefully done..Good job.. I was thinking about doing the same thing after I chomed everything out. I just may just wait for the Carbon Fiber set that coming out next year. Then I'll get the carbon fiber mirror covers and power vent covers.. Good luck with it.

NICE! If you don't want to paint or dip the trunk lid piece there is always the option to have it Vinyl Wrap'd that way if you ever decide to go back to your chrome trim you can just have it unwrapped and viola.

I like the looks of those new wheels and like that they are not all black but, a kind of steel gray with a bright perimeter. Very nice total effect!

You did a really good job, I think I may also change out some of my chrome in the front and on the doors. I added new wheels and tires today along with the carbon fiber mirror and side vent covers. I think the sportiness of the car is in conflict with so much chrome. I have the carbon fiber interior, It needed some carbon fiber outside as well. I'll have some better shots once this rain moves out.

Jaguri,

Quick question - you say your '10 is a "black package" car - I see from the pictures you have black grills, etc in the front bumper but that they are still surrounded with chrome. Is that what the black package looked like for the 2010 / 2011 cars or is there an option that truly blacks out all the chrome? My front bumper was damaged in a minor collision and I've been asking the dealer to replace the parts with black package parts but they are saying they can't find such a thing. Mine right now looks just like you picture - black grills with chrome surrounds and I'm wondering if that's just what it looked like for our model years. That could explain why they can't find other parts.

As far as I know the blacked out surround didn't appear until the 2012+ black pack models. The 09-11 black pack grill had blacked out mesh/emblem area and chrome surround. The two grills are not interchangeable so you can't use a 2012+ grill.

Interesting - thanks, that's extremely helpful. Seems I already have a black package car and they just need to order what I've already got. Which is good as after 3+ weeks I *really* want my car back!

Looks good! I painted all of the bright work and chrome on my 2013 black...including the wheels. Calibers were also painted red. I think you'll get a lot of looks with your set up.

Drooooool - *LOVE* the Storm Trooper look, very very hawt. Very nicely done, classy while looking completely mean and ready for business. Had my first car not been a white Honda Accord I'd most likely drive all white cars but after that (with blue interior) I just can't own white. I suppose that's why I now drive all black huh?
