2009 JAGUAR XF is over heating

My 2009 Jaguar XF is overheating. I replaced the coolant overflow reservoir. Could it be my thermostat. It didnt begin to overheat until I drove it a few miles. It did not overheat while idling.

Possibly - but do not let it overheat or it may destroy the engine
