2009 SV8 motor Seized!
OK guys i have a 2009 s/c xf with the 4.2 (51,xxx miles). I haven't had the vehicle running for a few months. Let me start out with i took it to the Jag dealership in on 4/5/13 at about 430pm for a cracked rim, wanting to order a new one through my extended warranty company (My Jag warranty ran out at 50,000 miles).
They then proceeded to take it to the back and do their "complimentary multi-point inspection". They didn't have the rim in stock so i left (with a piece of paper saying NO SERVICE INTERVAL NEEDED on my multi-point inspection that was complimentary so i didn't have to pay the $49 & i had also had my last service interval at that very dealership) i then awaited a call a few days later with it in stock.
Well 2 days later on 4/7/13 im leaving my buddies house late at night jamming my music. Pull up at the house after a 20 min ride turn my music down and hear my car is making a a load knocking/clunking sound so i killed it right away. Next day i check the oil and there doesn't seem to be really any in it. (what happened with that multi-point inspection?) Called my extended warranty company and they told me to have Jag pick it up so they did.
Oh and i also called Steve Mason the service guy and he told me "they didn't actually do the inspection because it was about 5pm at the time i got seen to and they didn't have any techs" Next day warranty company come out and take a sample of the oil. They later called and said if i didn't have proof that i had an oil change in that time that they wouldn't pay for the $13,500 motor let alone the install. I didn't have a receipt i could find so now im screwed. I have been back and forth with Jaguar of north america and nothing came out of it.
I feel i have a good case against them just cant find a good lawyer. I work offshore in the oil field and am gone for weeks at a time i don't have time for this anymore. Im currently looking at putting a used motor in it with 30k miles or so just don't know how to find one.
Also was wondering if i could do a swap with the 2010 5.0 s/c would be able to be bolted right up or no? IF anyone has any legal/general advise as im not to familiar with all this then i would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks guys

Welcome to the forum.
You're obviously upset, but please be aware that double-posting is not allowed here on the forum, so I deleted your other post in the General Tech section.
That massive block of text was very hard to read!

Oil Change Proof
Lad
Really sorry you're having this problem at all , but it seems if you did your oil change at a shop, you should be able to get them to look in their records for you.
The 5.0 is a direct injected V8 and may have many ECU/Harness issues. May not be impossible but probably not a direct swap.
Good Luck

Sounds like you're saying that the engine had no oil in it.
If you believe that the Jag dealer drained it and forgot to refill, that's one angle.
If the dealer didn't open the hood 'no service interval needed', then it's your problem and not theirs or the warranty company. Oil level checks (and all other routine stuff) are the owner's responsibility.

I am a bit confused?
Where and when did you have the oil changed?
Even with no receipt you should be able to ask them for a duplicate one?
You mention the Jaguar dealer did not really do a multi-point inspection but that is a minor problem compared to the oil change.
Have you checked the oil level after you had it changed? With low or no oil I would have thought you would get a warning light on the dash but it depends?
Does or did the car have any oil leaks?
There are several 4.2L SC motors on EBay just be aware that yours has VVT which was not added to the SC 4.2L until the 2006 model year. I am also unsure if the STR and the XFR 4.2L are identical enough to swap out? I think the basic long block is the same but you are in new territory here!
