After-market HID kits can be installed in the non-HID (halogen) XF headlights with not too much effort, see here: Fitting HID's
Probably a lot cheaper to buy a non-HID replacement headlight assembly then fit the HID kit to both lights, than to try and track down and buy a pair of XF OEM HID headlights.
Also, I'm not sure the OEM HID headlight assemblies will work "plug and play", you may need to tweak the software via SDD (not at all easy!), and you may also need to fit headlight washers depending on the laws where you are.

OK, now I think I understand your initial question better.
I'm 99% sure you can't just put a halogen bulb in a xenon/HID headlight and expect it to work. Your best bet is to search eBay etc for a replacement halogen headlight to match your existing one, or else try ringing around some wreckers/breakers.

Yea i figured the connections may be different but the only reason i ask is because there are tons of the xenon headlights for sale but only a couple halogen and they are for the passenger side..thank you for your help though my search continues for a halogen
