2010 XF - Chrome lug nuts do not exist?

When you go to chrome wheels, are they supposed to use your old lug nuts ? The guy brought the car back to me with the old lugs on. He advised even the new cars at the Jaguar dealership would all have the plastic capped lugs.
Am I being ripped off ?

Mabye I'm too picky but I think it looks odd having the old, stock lugs on a fresh set of chrome rims.
I can really tell the color and texture difference.. its really bugging me.
Al the rims I'm looking at on eBay and other places seem to come with the chrome lugs. I still feel like I got ripped off

Don't know why XF is not included in the list. Aren't all Jags the same?

Be aware that the TPMS stems MUST have plastic caps. They can be chromed plastic but they have to have plastic threads. There have been reports of valve stems shearing off at the cap if metal caps are fitted. Jaguar wil not honor the warranty on TPMS if they find metal dust caps have ever been fitted.

Yes, this is a ridiculous problem. However, the valve stems are aluminum and any other metal creates a galvanic corrosion problem weakening the valve stem. It breaks off unpredictably allowing complete sudden loss of air as if a blow out. This is not a trivial fault. Actual failures have been reported fom UK drivers.

Direct quote from a reliable UK site :
"You should not be surprised because of the content of this Jaguar Technical Bulletin
Again, this is a subject for which a Technical Bulletin has been issued.
It says, in part:
The valve stem on Tire Pressure Monitoring System vehicles may be damaged during manual tire pressure checking when either the valve cap is removed or the airline is attached resulting in an sudden and complete loss of the air within the tire. It is not possible to refill the tire with air.
2) The Low Tire Pressure Warning will be illuminated and associated instrument pack messages displayed, this is due to gradual air loss through the TPMS tire valve assembly.
This Version has been issued to add final VINs.
Cause: Improved material specification valve is now available Suggested Customer Concern Code - A40.
NOTE: Always replace all four (vehicle set) low tire pressure sensors (five low tire pressure sensors if the vehicle has a full size spare).
NOTE: Jaguar engineering do not recommend the fitment of metal dust caps to vehicles fitted with TPMS, warranty claims will not be accepted. Any vehicle found with metal/chrome valve dust caps on TPMS tyre valves must have them removed and replaced with the Factory fitted plastic valve dust caps, part number XR8 51652.
NOTE: Owners must be informed of the consequences of putting metal valve caps on Aluminium TPMS tyre valves as this will void the warranty of the tpms valve assemblies as the plastic cap is the engineering specified fit.
Action: Should a customer express concern, install a vehicle set of new low tire pressure sensors."
