Default 2010 XF-R Stock 12.846@112.95!

Took the XF-R to the track last night, the conditions were as bad as you could get....99 degrees in AZ, and high humidity (storm was on its way).

First pass I ran the car in trac mode and the first dsc off position with automatic shifting. The dsc was triggering through first and second gear. - 12.846@112.95 with a 2.136 60' time This netted my best pass.

After that I was hot lapping the car, and tried DSC completely off, manually shifting. Unfortunately the track was so bad I could not get any traction in first, and shifting in to second, the car would close the throttle and kill power for about a full second. It did this any time I tried to shift the car manually...dsc completely off or dsc in the first dsc off mode. I made 5 passes and was never able to beat the dsc second mode and auto shift. I repeated the steps in from the first pass at the end of the night, and it netted my second best time of 13.27@111.94. This was after a solid 5 hot laps. If I had the time, I would have let the car cool down completely, and I think it would have went a 12.7@114.

On a side note, my 08 M5 ran a best time of 12.7@114, this was on a day that was about 15 degrees cooler, dry (no humidity), and a MUCH better track. So the XF-R is definitely faster at the drag strip. I think given the same day the XF-r would hav run a mid 12.5x at 115 and change.

The M5 on my dyno made 432 to the tires, my XF-R dyno'd 463.

Impressive times for a stock car, all supercharged cars run better in cool weather so I hope you can take it back once the temperatures go down.

That's cool! thanks for sharing. I can't believe how much of a beast this car is!!

I'm confused though on how to get the ZF Trans into first gear w/out it staying in Manual mode? a couple of posts like this one about the best way to launch indicate that maually putting into first gear but then letting the ZF do the shifting from there...

Am I missing something or just not reading right (probably the later!)

Thanks
Dave

The XF-R is fast, but the tranny's Torque limiters is the only thing holding it back.
I gave it just 1 pass down the track and after it spun in the top of first it fell on its face and then came back on only to run 12.7@117MPH with a 2.3 60ft time.
Soon as it cools off a bit I will go back and really try to get it to do its best numbers.
The MPH is what shows the power, the ET shows the skills of getting that power to the ground.

The only time mine wouldn't do that is if I let the computer control the shifting, and run it in the second DSC mode. I think with stickier tires and a stickier track, it will be less of an issue, but we will see.
