Default 2011 XF key fob programming

I recently acquired a 2nd key fob for my 2011 XF and would like to program it myself rather than give the dealer $150. I have searched this site as well as other web searches and I cannot find any details/instructions for programing it? Is it possible to program this fob on my own? TIA.

Everything I've seen says dealer (and maybe locksmith) only.

You must find anyone who has full working SDD w/o any cracks and program new fob. By the way, before this procedure in car should all fobs that you will be use in future

I saw it done by a locksmith on YT on an XJ, But could not find a Locksmith in all of SoCal that would program mine for my XF only the dealer would.

I remember going through all this with my 07 LR3 - tried various "new" keys on eBay etc couldn't get the dealer to pair them successfully. Something to do with the keys originating in the UK and being "seeded" with the VIN number or a key based off the VIN which is programmed in the chip's once only memory. In the end, I asked the dealer I bought the LR from to speak with the previous owner and tell them I posted a $200 finders fee for the "spare" key. Three weeks later, they found it, I had a second key for half the dealer price and they got $200 to spend on beer. Win Win.
