Default 2011 XF Things to check for...

Looks like I'll be picking up a 2011 this evening. What are some things I should check for? Common issues that maybe I can negotiate down with?

Yea I have an '09. Found an '11 for the lil woman that we are planning to pick up this evening. I know the 09 had a few issues (gear selector, fuel door and a few others) that I was sure to check for when I bought mine. Was just wondering if there were any things like that to be sure to check for on the 11s? I thought they had fixed most of those issues with the '10 but again just checking to see.

On ANY XF be sure and check the dash pad for pulling away and wrinkling. Look in the center close to the windshield as that's where they all start bubbling at.

Well, I have no knowledge to add except that you are going to have one hell of a great looking garage!

I have an 11, and I don't really have much to add other than to check the trim around the windows is not stained. If it is, it has to be replaced, like mine did. However, warranty covered it no problem. Everyone thinks it can be polished, but not without removing the anodized coating which is not a small deal.

I have an '11 - owned it for 6 months now. No issues what so ever (other than its habit of sliding out the tail - i think the tyres are at fault). As mentioned by other make sure the Dash is not bubbling.

I'm interested in knowing the mileage / price of the Jag you're picking up. I've only owned mine for 6 months but i'm already bored of it. Thinking about selling it.

Sorry another thing to look out for: turn the wheels all the way and drive slowly. See if you feel/notice a random vibration while driving/turning slowly! I have test drove at least 10 2011 Jags before buying mine and at least 7 of them had this issue. Not sure what it is - a member on this forum suggested it had to do with the rear differential (not even sure if it's an issue but still FYI).

Yea I checked that, especially since I just had to have mine replaced.

My steering column makes a creaking noise when it auto adjusts when getting in and out of the car. My dealer lubricated it but the noise is back. I have read other members have had a replacement. No other significant issues. Almost two years from new, only 14k miles so far. Good luck with the second xf!
