Unhappy 2012 xfr sc boot not opening

Good Day I trust everyone is doing well.

I went on trip this weekend which started much worse than I ever thought.

I went to do some shopping, put all my bags in die boot. At the mall I noticed my soft close function not wanting to close the boot. I opened the boot to make sure nothing was in the locking mechanism or pushing up on the boot. I tried closing again and the boot closed as normal.

I arrived at my overnight accommodation where I tried to open my boot, pressed the button on the key Fob and the boot doesn't pop open. I tried everyway (Key Fob button, Cabin Boot button and also the switch outside on the boot), I wasn't worried as I knew I could open the boot with the metal key supplied with my Key Fob. I tried to open the boot using the Metal key blade, which also didn't open the boot. I can here something electronic trying to move in the boot when I press the buttons to open it, but something is keeping it from being released. I have access to the boot through the rear seats.

The car now thinks the boot is open for some reason even though it's closed which leads to me not being able to lock the car with central locking, I have to use the metal key on the door.

Kind regards

There's a micro switch in the boot lock mechanism that gets worn over time and this happens, you will need to replace the lock mechanism its a cheap easy job i got a new one on AliExpress.

Any advice on how to get the boot open? As its still stuck closed.
Like I mentioned I can't open the boot even with the Metal key blade supplied with the Keyfob.

Regards

The only way would be through the back seats, undo the trim on the sides try pulling the cable with a stick or something long, so you can fold the seats, then manually pry the lock mechanism.

I have access to the boot from the seats, I just don't know what to do to open the boot lid itself.

Will I need to remove the boot liner?

Regards

Have you tried pushing down on the boot lid as you try and open it?

If you have access get a flat screwdriver, and pry the lock.

Have you pulled on the glow in the dark emergency release cable?
