2013 XF 3.0 SC location of O2 sensor Bank 2 Sensor 2
I just purchased a 2013 XF 3.0 SC and an engine light came on after a few months (P0062) The codes refers to the O2 sensor Bank 2 Sensor 3, I am trying to verify this is a rear sensor and which side.
I just had error code P0062 appear with the description HO2S heater control circuit bank 2 sensor 3. I ordered DENSO 234-4749 and discovered upon replacement that the electrical connection fit the retainer for the right side facing forward. The parts manual had clearly indicated it was bank 2. The connectors have 2 ridges on one side and a single ridge on the other. They are not interchangeable. I decided to replace both sensors, L & R, and was able to get a NTK 25749 for the left side, again facing forward. Problem solved. Hope this might help in sorting out the L & R sensor connectors.
I have this engine diagram and it's for the 5.0L V-8 but as you know the V-6 uses the same block so I am pretty sure it's correct? I do see where there are a number of ways Jaguar designates cylinder banks. It also changed as the years went by.
To add even more confusion I have seen Jaguar use bank 1 and bank 2 as you noted. Which I think means Bank 1=A and bank 2=B.

Clubairth1 is correct and this information is confirmed by the Jaguar Workshop Manual X250-XF 2008 to 2013MY for VIN R0019 to R47514, which I have and read. See text capture below.
I think I flipped the identification around as I always identified locations from seated in the cockpit (left-1, right-2) rather than from the front facing the vehicle. I miss-read the “viewed from the flywheel”. I was not positioned at the front of the vehicle facing toward the rear. I was still facing forward. What a strange way to drive, facing toward the rear of the vehicle.
I guess the parts book was correct after all. In any case, I now have 2 nice shinny new sensors.
