You painted it right?
Yep, per his earlier post he disassembled the badge and spray painted the backing.
I did the same with my grille badge, except I did the backing in body colour (Kyanite Blue) using an artists brush and the touch up paint from my ChipEx kit, then two coats of clear lacquer on top.
The badge is easy to lever off with a plastic trim removal tool, then it's easy to pull apart into it's three pieces, paint the backing, then reassemble and stick it back on.

Hey Lew yes it would look great on your red XF. To answer your question. Yes I did spray paint over my black growler badge. The bad is 3 different sections. You simply pry the apart and when done painting you snap them back together and either use 3m tape or an apoxy to put it back on your grill. It only took me two minutes to get mine off. I used a can of $3 can of gloss red paint. I let the part dry over night before putting it back together. Please post pictures after you're done.

hey everyone I have a 2011 Jag Xf as well and I was wondering where I could buy the emblem? To be honest I'd rather just keep the original in case anything might happen... I'm looking for a red one as well of course.

See my post below. It’s super easy and only took about 15 minutes.
