Default 255/45 r19 instead 245/45 r19

I am going to change my tires 245/45 r19 in the next 6 months. I was thinking about putting different size 255/45 r19 on the original wheels r19. What are your thoughts guys? Will I have problems to install them? Will I have problems with my jag, the way it drives? Or should I stick to original tire size?

You shouldn't have any problems with fit. There's plenty of clearance for a slightly wider and taller tire. Others will probably chime in here that going with a taller tire is going to wreak havoc on you ABS, traction control, etc., but it won't. The 255/40 just a little over 1% taller which is well within the range considered safe in the wheel and tire industry.

Now, your speedo will be slightly off. You'll be travelling a lil faster than the speedo reads.

Also, why wider? Ten mm is very tiny and you will not notice any difference in appearance. In fact, 10 mm is within the normal tolerance for both sizes in terms of actual measured tread width. The tires may in fact be the same width with those different sizes stamped on the sidewalls.

I did not like them due to the road noise they create. I feel as I had other problems with defects and balancing problems, but its also been 6 to 7 years since ive used them.

Sumitomo owns the Dunlop brand. They can make very good tires if they choose to. They can also make cheap and nasty tires if anyone wants to buy them.

Excellent all weather tire. I have the full winter version on my SAAB Aero and they are superb.

Oops, continental nomenclature caught me out again. DW does mean Dry Wet. All weather version is the DWS. With the S for Snow of course.

The really high performance Contis are the contact 2, 3 and newest 5P

These also get high ratings in the press and from users.

They definitely are not an "all weather" tire.
