Does anybody have any experience or guides onaccessing the various modules on the MOST network of a Jaguar XF 2013? I've got an ongoing issue where I have no audio/video or satnav (the audio / video menu is just greyed out on the touchscreen).
I did think the issue was water ingress in the boot (there was a big pool of water where the battery was), but I believe I've sorted this now. I've tested the battery and various fuses and battery gives a good voltage and fuses appear ok.
So next I guess I need to test the MOST modules to see which one is broke. I've managed to access what I think is the amp in the left side of the boot, and I've also removed the front passenger seat and accessed the DAB module.
I am waiting for my fibre optic test loop to arrive, so i'll be able to test both of those, but assuming they are ok, I know there are still another bunch of modules scattered around.
I've seen the MOST diagram in the workshop manual, but to be honest it gives a rough location of the module, but I've no idea exactly where they are, and was wondering if anybody would know how to get at them?
First place you start is with the lower cd unit ,remove the unit and unplug all the connectors to it ,leave the unit on the seat lock the doors with a double click for 30mins then return and reinstall, that would be step 1 before you start messing with modules etc, then if no go I'll show you what to do next, I made a video on the whole audio system but lost it
I think Dennis means the one in the centre console, not the boot mounted navigation dvd.
Ahh ok understood. Is there a guide on getting to the connections of the centre console? I mean my XF doesnt have any CD or DVD players, not in the front or the back, so I'm assuming you mean the touch screen unit in the dashboard?
Thank you, but as it turned out, it was the DAB unit.
The fibre optic test cable came today, I looped out the amp in the boot and still didn't work, then I took out the front passenger seat, looped out the DAB unit and it worked! Audio, video and sat nav all fine.
So it seems the DAB unit has failed. I've left the test loop in for now and will buy a replacement DAB unit.
That product doesn't fit my Jaguar XF unfortunately. It's too small. There must have been more than one size used in Jaguar X250 cars.
Really? Hmm that is a shame and strange, what year is yours? Mine is 2013, i'm surprised they would use different fibre connector sizes across their models, seems a weird choice but nothing would surprise me with Jaguar!
Mine is 2008 (X250). CORRECTION! This fibre loop does fit the Bluetooth telephone module but it does not fit the Portable audio interface. However, I used the male fibre loop to fit into the source i.e. the wiring loom that the cables come out of. That way, you can kill two birds with one stone if both the aforementioned modules aren't working:
As you can see, the Portable audio interface plug is a different shape (ignore the filled pin hole, the pin from the PAI has broken off in it). Thus the fibre loop from the above eBay link doesn't fit this.

Ahh interesting! I guess with the 5 years difference in our models they have used different size connectors.
Out of interest, whereabouts was your bluetooth module? And was it easy to get to? I only managed to get at the amp (left side boot) and DAB (under front side passenger seat), but got lucky as it was my DAB at fault! Would love to know how to get to the other modules in the future if I needed to.
Yep, I was surprised the Portable audio interface used a different fibre connector to the Bluetooth telephone module. Both these modules are both under the passenger seat in mine. Yes, both are easy to get to. You just have to pull the air con vent out of the way (it slots in and out easily). Note, the first module is the Bluetooth telephone module. Jaguar don't call it a DAB module though it does appear to have something to do with it as my DAB isn't working without this module fitted, and my FM / CD player is.
Jaguar official name: Bluetooth telephone module
eBay / common name: Bluetooth module
Jaguar official name: Portable audio interface
eBay / commmon name: Aux Audio Connectivity / module
Thank you thats very useful, although i think perhaps it is different in my 2013 model as i only recall seeing the DAB module under the passenger seat (although maybe i needed to lift the carpet up more), but luckily my issues was the faulty DAB, I've not diagnosed it or replaced it yet but using the loop cable and bypassing it, everything works fine (obviously without DAB for now). Mine seemed dry as a bone as well.
Yours looked like some serious water damage! Were you able to get to the bottom of how the water was coming in the first place?
