Adding OEM subwoofer

Man you're getting confused lol. With high 12 amp lovely member brake buster told me that midrange speakers are activated. So is that small centre speaker worth extra £200 and all the hassle?

Its depends on you listening preferencies. rear suround system is very nice spaciuso ambient but its not needed . without center channel you will miss that in front stage.
BTW. I have high doubts about LR premium amp 16 will work identical as Jaguar premium amp 16 - diferent software. not sure.maybe it can be flashed with right when in car. also the value of top line is much more worth than medium.

there is more than just a centre dash speaker with the 'surround ' system for the £200 as you put it
you get an 825w system over the 380w as well as extra software maps for dolby digital, meridian surround and a few other options with the Prem16
this is the dash for the High12 with subwoofer added
this is the dash with the FULL Prem16 amp and FULL Meridian software package ,
again , i think all the options and differences are confusing you perceptions of what Jaguar added
the High12 is a huge improvement over the basic system , which is basically better speakers with more channels and better sound with more power and better 'meridian' sound management ,
the Prem16 is an even greater improvement over the High12...... with added co-axial surround sound speakers ( so x6 more speakers ) with more than double the power over the high12 and all the Meridian software thrown at it ,
i think you best going for the High12 with the sub woofer in the boot , 380w of power and separated door mounted mid range speakers while upgrading all the speakers to the much better meridian grade at the same time to handle the extra power from the high12 amp
BB
ps , it is correct that even though the amps look the same, and will work to a degree, the software is different, so you need to either buy a dedicated jaguar XF amp( plug and play with a small amount of CCF that takes 1 minute to upload ) , or a land rover one and have the software flashed, that takes about an hour on top of all the other work ,
