Addition of Chrome Fender Trim Pieces

Addition of Chrome Fender Trim Pieces
Has anyone changed their body-color fender trim (the piece over the vent, just behind the front wheel) to the chrome ones? If so, what route did you go? I saw the OEM ones are about $225, but I also saw some aftermarket sets on ebay. One of which was two separate pieces per side that looked marginal - it's $80 for those.

Not sure I could ever put those on this car.
Another seller had a picture of the OEM piece (or so I think) but when I emailed them they said their part went over the top of the existing piece. I can't tell if it's the same as the aforementioned separate pieces, or a single piece that covers the stock/body-colored one. They also mentioned that replacing the piece entirely often times results in breaking it; is there any truth to that? This set was selling for $125.
$225 seems excessive for what it is, but if the other options look terrible, I may just have to suck it up and go OEM.
I appreciate any input.

I bought a set of these just like the ones you have linked to, and they may even have been from the same seller. I stuck them on over a year ago.
They are chrome plated ABS plastic and they stick on over the top of the existing trims, using 3M adhesive backing.
They go on easily, the fit is perfect, you can't pick them from OEM, and mine still look like new a year later.

I had the same set of chrome when I first bought the car. Got them off ebay and they were great. Self stick and took minutes. No way would I spend the $$ on the factory. The aftermarket look just as good.
I've since changed to the Mina Gallery carbon fiber. WAY!!!!!! cheaper than the factory carbon vents. And same easy install.
