Default advice on touch screen issue

Hi everyone!

I am new on this forum and this is my first post. Unformtunately with a tech problem.

My 2009 XF pertrol (3.0 V6) is having serious problems with the touch screen. It switches on and off whenever it likes and reboots all the time. I've tried everything to sort out the fault but have no idea what's causing this problem. New USB stick, no cd in the player, no phone connected, removed the charger cable of the Phone etc. etc. etc. The car went back to the dealer 4 times. A software update was performed, the replaced the touch screen (at my cost...expensive thing!), they replaced the DVD drive in the back because it made some noise/ kept on running for a minute or so after switching of the car, they replaced the harness in the right front door, etc, etc. But...nothing worked.

Car getting back to the dealer next week but I am afraid they are perfoming some tests again and probably replace a part, just to find out what's causing this problem by trail and error (and at my expenses). There is a youtube movie with exact the same problem as I am having:

As you can see, just before the screen switches off, the navigation button becomes grey.

Please help me....I am so frustrated driving this excellent and beautifull car with this horrible failure that the dealer doesn't know how to fix.

If you need extra movies....I've made a lot of them so you can see what's happening. Just send me a pm, I can upload them through FILETRANSFER.

Thanks in advance and I will definitely keep you all updated!

Welcome to the forum Adriaan,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XF/XFR forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Default had the same problem at first

I had the same problem when it start it was doing this like the nav/screen was rebooting ! at the end off the week it will just stay black and flash the jaguar logo .

fixed the problem by changing my bluetooth module
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ashing-101401/

here is the link with picture of the module

p.S try to find it online cause at the jaguar dealer they will charge you 500$ for the module and another 500$ for the handwork while it's not really complicated to replace.

I knew it had to be something electrical. I was going to say to check the power cable going to the display. but if the bluetooth module looks like it does in that pic on the link, then the dealership should've caught that before.

Default Found it....!

Got the car back from the dealer. Brought a day earlier due to due a dead battery (probably drained by the screen). Dealer checked the bluetooth module but no problem was found there ......

After another day of searching and testing the dealer found a faulty control panel which is fitted behind the screen in the dash. I am sorry, do not know the exact name of it. They replaced the panel.

Nevertheless....drove the car back home and....everything is working again.

Thank you guys for all the quick responses!
