AJ V6 Engine

AJ V6 Engine
The June issue of Car&Driver has a brief article on the current AJ V6 engine. Found it interesting, the engine has a split crank shaft (i.e., the connecting rod journals are slightly displaced) to address the imbalance of a 90 degree V6. Doesn't seem to require balance shafts.
Bore and stroke are different from the V8 which surprised me since I though part of the reason for the V8-2 was to share components. Guess not...

You dreamed of a big star -
He played a mean guitar -
He loved to drive his Jaguar...
So welcome to the machine

>Of course bore and stroke are different. It is 3000 cc's, not 3750 (5000 x 3/4).
Ya, thanks, math is hard...
But, I'm still confused, why didn't they make a 3.8l motor and use the same parts.

>Because 3.0L is the limit in a ton of countries for a "luxury Tax". Anything over 3.0L is taxed heavily.
Ah, I see said the blind man, as he picked up his hammer and saw...
