Default Are all heaters this bad?

Hello everyone.
I've owned my 2008 2.7D XF for about a month now and I was wondering if the heater/climate control system is generally bad in this model or is it just mine?
It seems to get warm fairly quickly but the output of that warmth into the cabin is abysmal. I can turn the fan and required temperature up to max but very little comes out of either the dash, footwell or the windscreen vents no matter what selections I make.
The fan runs fine. I can hear it whirring away in the dash and it's obviously running at a decent speed.

Not sure what other info would be relevant but I'll provide any that's required.
Thank you.

My 2013 blows great heat, maybe the best of any car I've had. Up to temp very fast and I never need more than two bars on the velocity.

My 2010 is great too

Sounds like you may have a damper stuck closed or an obstruction in the ducts?

I'd agree, sounds like a stepper motor isn't moving a flap somewhere it should be. Also check the cabin filter/air intake in case it's packed full of leaves or something.

I'll look up and check out your suggestions. Thank you. It does seem weird to me because every other post I've read that mentions the heating system does nothing but praise it.

This morning was the perfect example.
I finish work at 6 but I knew my car was frozen so I went out and started it at 5:30 and set the heater to full defrost mode. When I came out at 6 only a tiny sliver of the windscreen was clear at the bottom so I had to scrape it anyway. My zafira would have been clear in half that time.
My mate hadn't bothered starting his early and we came out of work at the same time but his Nissan was clear and driving away before mine.
