Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Problem
#1

Recently, I've had some super-low false readings showing for ambient air temperature... Which then causes the A/C system to start blowing unnecessarily hot air. It will be 70 degrees outside, but it shows 20 degrees, for example. It came and went a couple of times but now seems stuck low.
Has anyone dealt with the problem before? The sensor is under the driver side mirror. I got the mirror off and the wires at the sensor look fine. I couldn't get the cover off the side mirror (afraid I was going to break something) to check where the wires connect at the mirror joint.
Seems like (if I can get the cover off) I might be able to replace the sensor myself. Anyone done that?
Thanks for any advice.
