This worked! Perfectly! Take it from my trial and errors. Do NOT tap into factory sub wires. It will sound awful and your after market subs will be auto toned down as you turn up volume as to not blow the factory sub.
I don't know if you have the B&W sound system as well in yours, but I personally have not experienced what you're describing. No bass rolloff at higher volumes. And like Kyanite suggested, nothing beats having a dedicated subwoofer control off your head unit.

Also updated my original post with pics, it was snowing so sorry for the crappy pics

Definitely makes sense. But now that it's done, wires soldered etc etc. I'm leaving it lol. Also, I have the bass turned all the way down on my factory radio and the treble up decently. This way I won't blow factory speakers at all either. The amount of bass my 2 10" woofers and aftermarket amp are pushing is excellent. It sounds great to me and I'm a weirdo about good sounding music in my cars.

Idk. Just my 2 cents

Glad to hear it. That's the important part. Just wanted to make sure anyone using this as a guide was aware of the disadvantages of not using the LC2 on the Sub channels.

Hi Erik,

I am located in Central New Jersey and I am trying to purchase a sub and amp to be installed in the trunk of my 2012 XF with base stereo system.

Got estimates from one local installer and from Crutchfield who are both recommending; JL Audio 10 inch sub and JL Audio mono block amp. Sub and amp installed in trunk with sub going into carpeted box. Parts are about $600 including above and remote sub control for driver, wiring, relays, etc... The problem is that the installer I saw has not been getting back to me and the recommended installers from Crutchfield do not have good reputations. Would you know of any quality installers in Central New Jersey who can do this relatively minor job? Greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Would you happen to know the volume space that was in the Jaguar "8 sub enclosure that holds the spare?
