yeah its not for everyone for sure! I wish I was 18 again though... Great thing about this setup is that you can set it at any height it just parks low.

Aye, yeah that middle pic is perfect. The top one reminds of the mid 90s to early 2000s Mustangs with their 4x4 OEM ride height, yuck

Thanks for sharing Ian, beautiful ride you have there.
As for the ride height?
I'm not a fan at all of the slammed look, even if it's just parked.
For me probably the middle one of the 3 you posted would be fine
As said before, and no offence meant, but I'd also expect that of some teenage ricer too.
Obviously to each their own, its your car and you enjoy it, thats all that matters.

I don't. Life before cell phones and google flat out sucked! And the cars of the 80's were the darkest days of the automotive industry. Jaguars were absolute crap back then. Plus being a broke student sucked.

I'm with Tmack.... I love the look of a 1.25" drop... I want to do this soon to my 09 XFSC but I guess my question would be how much would the lowering springs effect the ride quality.... I would think bags would have a large negative effect on the cornering ability due to the body roll of the bags... Not trying to ninjas your thread ... But how's the ride quality/performance of lowering springs and also bags?

qs20, as you know I have the same rims as you and I also have the same spec tyres on the rear, 285/30R20. My front tyres are 255/30R35, I guess yours are the same.
I fitted Eibach lowered springs a few months ago, a couple of months after fitting the new rims & tyres, and they made almost no difference to the ride quality, only a tiny bit harder.
The stock XF ride is fairly firm to start with, the new rims and tyres hardened it up a bit, but no more than you would expect going from 45 profile tyres to 30 & 35 profile.
The Eibach springs (1.0" drop at the rear and 1.2" drop at the front) have given it a much nicer stance, especially now they have settled and dropped the car just a little lower. Very much the same as Ian King's second pic. The handling is also much improved, it now sits much flatter through the twisties with a fair bit less body roll.
The only downside is the increased negative camber on the rear, my guess from -.5 to -1.5 degrees, which cannot be adjusted. This results in increased wear on the inner edges of the rear tyres, such that the inner edges will wear out well before the middle. An acceptable price to pay in my opinion for the improvement in looks and handling.

I love the look of the drop... I wouldn't think that such a small amount of negative camber would wear too fast but I am kinda worried about it seeing as the Michelin Pilot super sports on the car are upwards of $400+ US per tire.... But I am definitely considering the drop anyway... If it wears too fast I can always go back to stock...
