Default Attention... Good and Bad

So we have the pleasure of owning an 07 XK and a 14 XF AWD SC with the Aero package. While me and the wife enjoy all the great attention and comments we get with the XF. We seem to be getting the "redneck my car/truck can out run your car" attention. While this usually gets dealt with accordingly, I was wondering how many more of you get the same attention.

Now this is an all good in fun post. I'm not ribbing on the rednecks. I love my overalls and cornbread too.

Probably has a lot to do with your locale. You come around driving your fancy British car, and them boys down in the south, with their elevated patriotism, want to prove that an American Hemi is the top of the automotive food chain.

Here in SoCal, I don't have anyone trying to race me. I just get the long looks from the Dad's in the minivans with their families wishing they could swap cars.

Same as Kyanite, I rarely get anyone wanting to mess around with me here. And whenever they do it is some riced out entry-level Japanese luxury car (G37, etc.) that wants to screw around in heavy traffic, weaving in and out. I never oblige those guys; people suck bad enough at driving here to have to make it even more dangerous just to prove a point.

I don't get people wanting to race, but I do find more people not wanting to let my Jag in front of them, more so than my other cars.

I had a BMW 6 series try and play last week, had traffic not been so heavy he would have gotten a nice beat down.

Not that rednecks are bad people, but they have certain tendencies. I know of no other group that thinks that ******** shaped add ons to their trailer hitch is a good idea.

Every country in the world has their equivalents of rednecks, and they are all equally embarrassed about them.

Ah, but that's what I like best about owning a Jaguar, when you arrive every one notices!
================================================== =
You dreamed of a big star
he played a mean guitar
He loved to drive his Jaguar...

So welcome to the machine
