Default The beast has found a new home!

Gentleman came and picked it up today. Really great guy and I couldn't be happier that the beast found a great new home. I got a bit nostalgic when I watched it drive off but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be seeing it go. On to the next chapter! (I'm spec'ing out a pickup truck from the factory).

I will probably still lurk here as my experience with this car has given me a deep-rooted love for Jaguar. Someday when they drop (a lot) in price my goal is to pick up an F Type~!

Thanks for being a great community and a good wealth of knowledge while I was here and active!

Yeah I don't know if I posted why here, maybe in my for sale thread I can't remember. No it wasn't, in fact it was one of the more reliable premium/luxury cars I have ever owned and it was running like a raped ape when the new owner drove it home! In fact my experience with this car has left me with a deep love for Jaguar that will not go away.

I'm buying a truck right now for a number of reasons:
- It makes a lot more sense for us as a second vehicle for home related stuff (I don't commute for work)
- I need another vehicle my wife can drive, and if / when we start to have kids that I can put a car seat in (neither of these were going to happen in the XFR)
- Both of our families live on farms up north and it would be REALLY nice to have a second vehicle option to take up there when we visit (my car won't make it on the roads up there)
- We go hiking / hunting / shooting in some places around here that I can't get to in my old XFR, so again it would be nice to have another option
- I miss driving a truck and having the utility of a truck

congrats on the sale, although I'm sure you're sorry to see her go.
You'll always be welcome here to share your experience and knowledge, Jag owner or not, so feel free to drop by at any time.

Good luck with your next choice of vehicle and happy motoring

So here's what took the beast's spot in the garage:

Nice touch:

2016 GMC Canyon SLE 4WD Crew Cab Short Box
Onyx Black
All Terrain Package
SLE Convenience Package
Remote start
Bose and Navigation upgrade
Factory Trailering Package
Factory Spray In Bedliner
This one had the All Terrain Adventure Package, which I hadn't originally ordered but basically got it thrown in

Loving it so far and already have some mods on order Spoke with the new owner of the XFR recently and he is loving it, and has had questions for me on how to best take care of it. I know it went to a great home!

Greaat Truck!!!..Does it have the I5 engine or the V6?

I almost went with one of these when I sold my Hummer last fall..I instead went with the Acadia Denali 3.6L/301 HP, V6, AWD...I love the electronics in it

Thanks!! The Acadia Denalis are really, really nice, that is a great choice! One of my good friends has bought two of them (prior gen and current gen) and he had nothing but good things to say about his experience. There were three engine choices for the new Canyon, a 2.5L 4 banger (200hp/191tq), the 3.6L LFX V6 (305hp/269tq) and a 2.8L Duramax turbo diesel (181hp/369 tq). I went with the V6 LFX as I was familiar with the engine from my old 3.6DI CTS and it is a pretty great motor. It can tow only about 500-600 pounds less than the diesel (rated at 7000 lbs) and doesn't carry the diesel premium. Also is supposed to turn 24mpg on the highway! Not bad for a 4x4. The diesel gets up to 31mpg.

I'm planning on a Trifecta tune like I had on my CTS to fix the wonky GM shift points and it should add around 30hp/tq. I was a little nervous to buy another GM product after the issues I had with my CTS but everything I've read is that GMC trucks are some of the best and most reliable you can buy for the long term. So hopefully what I read is right!

And yeah man, crazy technology....Android car play is coming with a March software update but as it sits right now it can tell me current gas station prices, read my texts to me and mirror devices screens onto the nav screen. Pretty incredible to see how far cars and trucks have come!

Cool Beans..The 3.6L (GM's flagship engine) is a solid engine I've been told..Mine is as I said 301 HP, but runs like a scalded *** dog.. and I am also not impressed with the shift points..Was wondering if there were any tune packages out there yet for it..You mentioned one. The ECM is real easy to get to and remove if need be to send in ..Any more info would be nice if you can share..Thanks

I hope you are not taking corners in that truck thinking back to your XFR .

Congrats on the new ride! I am also patiently waiting to pick up a nice used F-type.

Yeah it's even easier than that! Most of the tuners supply a CANBUS cable and you flash the tune yourself from a laptop. Some even offer remote tuning where you can datalog and send them the info they need to retune for mods such as ported throttle body, intake, etc.

There are a bunch of options but the two most popular are Trifecta and Livernois. I have personal experience with the Trifecta and loved it so I'll probably go that route again. Cost is really reasonable to tune GM vehicles because they are so common... For trifecta on Canyons it ranges from $300 for the base tune to $688 for lifetime retunes for mods. Here's a link for your Acadia, looks like $400 http://www.wot-tuning.com/forums/store/product/1105-2009-gmc-acadia-36l/

Haha thanks! No chance, doesn't quite have the cornering ability . If you're looking to plow through a muddy field though this is what you want to be in!
