Default Brake bleed

I just replaced pads on my 2014 XF and my pedal is now a little spongy I was gonna bleed them myself but I am going out of town and probably wont have time to do so. The dealer wants 165.00 to do the bleed but I had another shop quote me 85.00. When I went there he said he couldn't do it because the ABS would lock up unless it was hooked up to Jaguars computer, is that true??? Has anyone else bled their brakes recently or had them bled.

I don't know about the 2014..But My dealer did my 2012 without any computer hooked up, only the brake bleeding machine, nothing very sophisticated either..but it did the job without pumping the brake pedal.

Same here, I don't know about the 2014 model but on both my 2010 models I had the brake fluid changed by simply gravity bleeding the system one wheel at a time then refilling with new fluid, pump the pedal a few times and good to go, no reset of anything required.

Smh, I think the "OTHER" shop is just trying to get paid. The normal brake bleeding procedure should suffice.
