It strikes me as strange that the dealer would quote you a price when they must know that a 2011 has 2x brake replacements covered by the platinum warranty. I wonder how many people end up paying without knowing - feels like poor customer service. I've had my 2010 in once for repairs on warranty (a leaking power steering pump) and there was never a question of me paying - they just dealt with it all for me.

what is a good reasonable ceramic pad and where can I get them? I am having new rotors and pads put on for free at the dealer due to platinum warranty, but asked them if I could pay the difference to get ceramic. They are looking into options but don't think they will have one. Let me know and cost differences between OEM so maybe I can work with the dealer.

Virtually any aftermarket pad is going to be cheaper than an OEM pad. Doubt your dealer will give you the difference in cash or credit.

Check Brake Labs on the web. Four Wheel Ceramic set/ $111.00. Review How to Section for more information regarding brakes.

This is great. Thanks. Sorry to bother you all but quick question. The more expensive red ones are out of stock, but the brakelabs ones are available. Are these solid reputable pads? The red are almost 3 times the cost and wondering the difference. I don't want to get a pad that is much worse than OEM but just without the dust and want to make sure these are solid. Great option though.

I used them with no problem. They are designed to meet OEM standards for stopping, however the nature of the Ceramic compound rids you of the black dust common with semi metallic pads and better wear characteristics. Wear has a lot more to do with how hard the car is driven. I ordered them factory direct and they arrived quickly. I am sure the EBC Red-stuff pads are also excellent and distribution/marketing costs factors into their cost.
