OzXFR - let me know if you hear anything back from them on semi metallic vs ceramic. Interested to know. Either way I've been very pleased
Still waiting for a response.
But the plot thickens.
The boxes I got the pads in with the kit have stickers around the ends/sides showing 103.14490 and 103.14480 as posted earlier. Obviously stuck on over the top and covering up the original numbers on the boxes. I've tried but I can't get them off to see what is underneath.
I still have the boxes I got with the previous pads as well, they are identical except for two strange things. The 14490 and 14480 are the other way around (big box for the fronts vs little box for the rears) and they are 104 instead of 103. And they have "semi-metallic" written under the numbers.
When I search under 104.14480 or 104.14490 I get lots of hits for Centric Posiquiet semi-metallic pads, but when I search under 103.14480 or 103.14490 I get no hits other than my earlier post in this thread!
All this tells me that someone has stuck bogus stickers on the later so called "ceramic" pads boxes, maybe to cover up the "semi-metallic" text, and even then they stuck them on the wrong boxes!

Update - I managed to get the sticker off the smaller box, and sure enough underneath it is identical to the older box, including the text "semi-metallic". I now have no doubt at all that the seller of the kit I bought deliberately pretended they were selling ceramic pads when they knew all along they were in fact semi-metallic.

Well that just sucks. Get in touch with EBay to see if they will cover you. In most legal situations, the statute of limitations starts when the fraud is discovered, not when the transaction occurs.

Just following up to see if anyone has purchased R1 Concept rotors and EBC reds in a full (front & rear) brake kit? Haven't found any on Ebay, just the R1 Premier Rotors with their ceramic pads for around $1k. Are there better or alternative rotors out there? EBC rotors any good?

I'm fairly sure they are the same. I know that the XFR is 380 mm front and 376 mm rear, I *think* the SC is the same.

Yes. I have the 2010 SC and it's the same as the 2010 XFR. The 2009s had smaller brakes - 2010 onwards were the large ones
