Buyer's remorse

Just bought my new 2010 XF Supercharged and feeling remorseful as it was probably cheaper to lease a 2011 given the depreciation priced on the lease. Anyone think a 2010 XF S is a bad buy? I can still return it and get a 2011 lease, hence the question..
Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

I dont think so. I looked at leasing for my 2011 and because Jaguar does not have its own lease company the pricing is terrible. I had my deal give me lease prices and financing and the lease was only $100-$200 cheaper plus with 1.9% it was a no brainer for me. I was between the 2010 XFR and the 2011 Supercharged and I went with the 2011 because I got the covered maintenance and free snow tires. Hope that helps

That sounds about right price wise for a '10 XFR. What I've seen out there is you can get a demo '10 XFR for about the same price as an '11 XF S. Like drjp I picked the latter... But I did like those seats!!!
In your original post you kind of have 2 questions in there:
1. '10 XFS Buy vs. '11 XFS Lease (was your direct question)
2. is it better to get an '11 or a '10 from a depreciation perspective
To both the answer is it depends on the math!
As for the lease vs. buy thing - that's usually a big debate topic!!!
Bottom Line is if a) you fit the lease profile of miles, term, etc; b) you get a good Price and residual and c) the money factor (interest rate) is good -- then leasing is usually a good deal. There's tons of lease calculators out there to help out on that front. But just run thru the #'s and compare them. You're welcome to post them here and I'll give you an opinion if you'd like...
For me though it's all about risk -- if the above works then the only thing you have to worry about is tires for the term of the lease. Everything else is covered. I like that -- especially for a daily driver.
I leased my last 2 cars as it really fit the profile for me. But for my XF Supercharged, I wanted to keep longer and it's not my daily driver, so I just purchased it.
I hope that helps you out

Makes sense. I couldn't agree with you more on the risk, given the 6 yr.100K warranty that covers all but wear and tear and maint is free.
1 question - Why didn't you lease/buy the a new 2010 XF S? The 2011s and 2010 XFS's are the same and you could have picked up (still can I guess) a 2010 XFS new for a 25% discount of the 68K number.
Am I missing something here?

When I was looking back in Sept there was only about a $4-5k difference in price between a '10 and an'11. But I could not find a color combination I like in the '10's... Plus I like the maintenance program included on the '11's... So for me it wasn't worth the price savings... But that's just me...

I see. That makes sense.
So correct me below, if I'm wrong:
2011 Warranty = 5Y/50K covers all wear and tire, free maintenance included
2010 Warranty = 6Y/100K doesn't cover all wear and tear nor maintenance but a much longer general warranty that covers the car in the event something goes wrong, not related to wear and tear, correct?

I know the 2011 is correct plus free snow tires
The 2010 warranty is the Certified pre-owned warranty that is 6 yrs 100k
so you are correct, I guess what really matters is how long you plan on keeping the car. For me I was nervous about maintenance costs and reliability, I grew up with Jaguar and while I really love the car I just remember my fathers was constantly in the shop. I know Jaguar has come a long way, but I felt more comfortable with the free maintenance. Also while I love my car I'm sure a newer updated version of the XF will be released in the next 3-4 years that I will want to trade for.
