Hi. I am planning to buy used 2012 XF V8 base model. The car is very clean, agency maintained with a year or more warranty. Cost would be 22k. Any advice regarding how to maintain Jag properly. First timer.

I know you guys just leave your Ferrari's and Lamborghini's abandoned on the streets and go off and buy another one when you run out of gas
.....So the question for you is, How well maintained was it and do you have access to it's service records? They should be at the dealer if it was maintained there.
Generally, that MY is probably has the least amount of problems..Water pumps in that year's first editions was an issue (easy fix)..
But for routine maintenance. Regular Oil/filter Changes with proper spec'd oil. Fluids and lubes changes per the maintenance handbooks schedules, should keep you running for a long time.

The practice I've followed for the two Jaguars I've owned has been to buy CPO with some time left on the warranty. That coverage has allowed me to make sure the car is in sound shape when the warranty ended. Since I knew that everything was "up to snuff" I've been safely able to self-warranty both of them. Oh, the S-Type has been super reliable, except for having to replace the failed audio amp in the trunk and the common headlamp failure.
