Default A/C Controls 2011 XF Premium

Any one know how, or if I can operate the a/c temperature control for each side independently of each other. My 2011 XF Premium seems to be in Auto all the time??

Thanks.

Yes, there are separate temperature controls on either side of the Fan button. The left (in America anyway) is for the driver and the right is for the passenger. BTW pressing the FAN button will turn off AUTO.

Walt,
I assume that when the A/C is in Auto the temperature controls are in sync?? Now if I press the fan button does that just turn off the auto and leave the A/C on??

Thanks.

This vehicle has dual zone climate control. The driver's side of the front and the rear seat vents are one zone (left), the passenger side front (right) is the other. The zones can be set independently whether in "auto" (the normal setting which should be used most of the time) or not. If you press "temp sync" the right zone will be temperature matched to the same value as the left zone, otherwise they can be set independently.

Auto has nothing to do with the temperature controls, it controls the fan speed and the heating or cooling needed to maintain the temperature that you set. Pressing the fan button turns the climate control system completely off (air conditioning, heating, and ventilation) and rotates the vents closed, exactly the same as pressing the off button on the climate screen.

Er auto does control temperature but you have to choose the desired temperature. then the auto control adjusts everything including temperature of air passing through the AC and heater to achieve the selected temperature. I don't think manually selecting the fan speed completely deactivates the auto setting. Usually the manually selected variable is removed from auto control but the remainder is automatic.
