Cambelt Replacement Advice

Hi All
First post in a long while - great to see the Forum continue to be such a wonderful resource.
I'm confused about the cambelt/ timing belt replacement interval, as there is conflicting advice about this, and the car's manual says, well, nothing about when this should be done, surprisingly. I was told by the garage where I bought the car that it should be done at 112,000 miles or 10 years, whichever is sooner. However, having Googled around, I see the cambelt replacement is sometimes recommended at 7 years, and sometimes the mileage allowance is higher. My 2013 XF now has 142,000km/ 89,000 miles and is due an annual service. There is no record of a cambelt replacement in the service history. So, 8 years' old and 89,000 miles. Any thoughts? Engine sounds and performs fine, but I know these things sometimes give no warning before failing.
Many thanks
Jonathan

At 8 years and 89k miles, I would say you are due a cambelt replacement, but unfortunately I don't know the exact interval between belt changes. What I can tell you is that as far as I know, there is also a belt at the back of the engine for the high-pressure fuel pump which is normally replaced at the same time as the main timing belt. So doing both belts is obviously more in labour. It is not a cheap job, but then, no job on a Jaguar ever is !
The internet seems settled on 7 years or 112k miles, so you're overdue.

Hi all, thought I would post on this site... Im about to get the cambelt done on my xf 3.0v6 d, but I was watching a movie on the car on Youtube, from 2021, and the guys said it should be around £400-500... and a service £300-400. I've been quoted £850-£1000 for the belt change by a jag specialist in Taplow, near me, should I shop around ?!
