If Jaguar are smart they will wait for 3 years to launch this car. At that point as the rumors of the new XF become clear it might be just the stimulus that current XFR owners need to trade in rather than wait for the "new" XFR. As a last twist on the "old" XF it could be a smart move, assuming the global economy and gas prices have recovered.

I believe if Jag does this, they are now following Audi's model principle. Where they have the entry level cars (Like the A6), then they have the performance model (like the S6), then at the top they will have a high performance model (like the RS6).
I just hope Jag brings the RS models to the U.S. at some point.

I say no to any "RS" models. It's too confusing, and it dilutes the "R" moniker. I think they should wait on the 600 hp motor and introduce it as the new XFR. It's better for Jag to have the same cache with their "R" models as BMW has with "M" and Mercedes with "AMG". The way Audi does it is stupid.

I agree with Xfactor, the RS models do make less of the R models. I think the reason Jag did that was to offer more options. The XKRS is definitely more track oriented and possibly fewer people would buy them because of it. It really is much different from the XKR. I can't wait for the XFRS! I hope they make it good enough to out perform the M5. BMW kind of stumbled with the new M5 according to some of the reviews. For the first time it is not coming in first against the competition. I hope Jag takes advantage of that.
