Default Car shut off on me

2010 XFR

just got back from a small drive and as I am driving through the parking lot of my apartment the car shuts off, just check engine light on. I cruise to a stop and put it in park. Turn her back on and no lights. After I park in front of my apartment I run the codes. Any idea what could have caused it to shut down?

Not sure if there’s any significance to this but four days ago I randomly ran the app to see if there’s any pending codes and this showed up

Car Scanner ELM OBD2
DTC report
Selected brand: Jaguar

============1==============
P2800(40)
Raw code: 280040
ECU: Engine control unit
Status: Test failed, Test failed (current drive cycle)
OBDII: Transmission range (TR) sensor B - PRNDL input

============2==============
P2A31(50)
Raw code: 2A3150
ECU: Engine control unit
Status: Test failed, Test failed (current drive cycle)

============3==============
P0365(37)
Raw code: 036537
ECU: Engine control unit
Status: Confirmed, Test failed since last DTC clear, Test not completed during this operation cycle, Warning indicator requested
OBDII: Camshaft position (CMP) sensor B, bank 1 - circuit malfunction

no check engine lights and the car ran excellent. The next day these codes disappeared.

I've not seen those codes, and I don't have much to go on from the manuals, so it seems a pretty freakish thing. It looks like there was an issue with the communication between the ECU and a bunch of sensors. The fact these seem to have gone away the next day makes me feel its in the "random electrical glitch" bucket of errors. You say you were on a short drive makes we wonder whether the battery is playing up. Could try disconnecting it, giving it a good charge and see if they come back. Could also be that they are all connected to a bad ground point and its causing a voltage drop and a bunch of glitches.

Yeah definitely very weird stuff. I was thinking last night..... every time I’ve had weird codes pop up it’s when I leave my obd adapter plugged in for a couple of days. I wonder if it just keeps draining the battery or even causing fluctuations in my voltage, causing the sensors to go crazy. I’ll see if the car acts up for the next couple of weeks if I don’t plug anything in to the obd port.

Yes, that could be a thing, it'll be drawing power the whole time and if the battery condition isn't good it might be causing random things to happen. I left my obd adapter connected all the time for a while (mostly because I forgot to remove it), it started to play up, getting really warm to touch and draining the battery, before finally giving up communicating with my phone.

Mine was very warm too. Maybe this is the solution to my issues. I’ve been using mine to display all kinds of data because I didn’t want to put any gauges or gauge pods anywhere. I’ll just stick to using it only if I start having issues.

This is my screen with my app.
maybe grabbing info from that many sensors at once causes issues?
