Car ticking over before starting and then starts
Hi everyone, I have been having an issue with my Jaguar XF 2008. I did take the car to Jaguar and £700 later they fixed every other issue apart from the one I wanted. When placing my foot on the break and pressing the start button, the car starts to tick over and it struggles to start but then starts within about 15 seconds of this sound. It is quite a concern I was wondering if anyone could assist me with this issue in regards to what it could be. Jaguar have informed me there is nothing on the diagnostic and it reads all clear. I am just getting frustrated with what the issue could be.

Are there any indications of low power?
A couple things come to mind. Most obvious would be something wrong with the starter.
Another option is the power cable to the starter is corroded and not carrying as much of a charge as is needed. This is something I ran into with an old Audi, so maybe somebody more familiar with the wiring on these would be able to validate/repudiate. In that car, the main battery line ran from the battery to the alternator, with an additional main line going from the alternator to the starter. That smaller line had corroded. If the lines are run similar in these, then that could explain it if there are no other indications of low battery charge.
