Central Locking Driver's Door Not Locking

Hi all
I have had my 2013 XF 3.0S for a couple of years with no major issues and I absolutely love it after years of having Mercs.
I know this is a common issue and a lot of 'ink' has been used already....
However, I have changed the actuator unit and I still have an issue!! I am hoping someone can help me further.
It started with intermittent non-locking of the driver's side door and progressed to always not locking. Initially the mirrors would fold in on the first press of the Key or the keyless button but this progressed to sometimes having to press either button multiple times to get the mirrors to fold in. In all cases I got the dreaded double beep.
After reading this and other forums etc I just took the step of buying a new actuator unit off eBay, which I had fitted last Friday.
The situation improved only to the point that the mirrors fold in on the first press of the keyless or fob button. The door still does not lock (all other dorors lock as they should) and I get the double beep still.
I am therefore a little lost and wondered if there are any other actions I should take?
Following reading this forum further I also wanted tio check if there was an issue with the new unit I bought (cost £37). The part number given was FQJ500460 but on looking on Jag Parts this code does not appear to exist.
I have seen two other codes (JDE38172(G) and JDE38171) with contradicted descriptions on different sites but indicates that there may be different part numbers for keyless and non-keyless versions of the car. Any clarification here would be very much appreciated.
If I have had the correct part fitted, what else could be causing the continued non-locking of the driver's door?
Many thanks
Cheers
Al

Yes - the keyless and the normal do have different parts. So you will want to ensure you have the right one
If you sit inside the car and press the lock button on the dash by the screen does the drivers door lock?
Was it a new actuator you fitted or a used one (sounds cheap)? If used then it may also be faulty given what a common issue it is
Other causes
- spare key inside the car??
- door not closing properly (adjustment)?
- could try disconnecting the battery for 30s or so and then try again - it reboots the modules
If that doesn't work find a code reader and have the codes pulled. That should given an indication

I changed the passenger side lock on mine and the part code was JDE38173 for keyless entry genuine jaguar part, so it makes sense that JDE38172 would be the correct part number for the drivers door latch.
I have used cheap door locks in my last car with great success, but the jaguars have so much finicky electronics that I didn't think its worth the risk of using a non genuine door lock.

Hi all
Thanks so much for the added info - really useful.
As a follow up I have found the following;
The part I bought was incorrect - I have been told that it has the wrong keyless frequency (ok in China apparently!!) p/n FQJ500460. I did the car checker on the site and it told me it was compatible!
The correct p/n is definitely JDE38172 (offside front) which I have now obtained and having fitted on Thursday.
Thanks everyone and will update on Friday.
Cheers
