Default Christmas present for an XF owner - please help

Hi, I hope this is OK if I ask my question here - I desperately need to find a Christmas present, and I run out of ideas, all I know is that he just bought a Jaguar (don't know the exact model, but it is the one which uses diesel and is fairly new, a couple of years old).

Could someone please-please-please advise what I can buy him as a present for Christmas? I was thinking of may be an iPhone charger for the car - I know he doesn't have one, but should the charger be specific for Jaguar and if so where can I buy it?

Or is there anything else a guy might want to have for his car?

Thank you so much!

hi elle, is there any chance you can give a description of the car, or could you pick it out from the following choices? After that, I'll be glad to move your thread over to the specific area of the forum that his car pertains to, and you can get some very specific ideas.

the XF?

the XJ?

I'll tell you that you can never go wrong with some high quality interior or exterior car products, even a personal polisher makes waxing and polishing easier to do and something that an owner with attention to detail and likes to keep a clean car, will certainly enjoy.

Good luck finding a great Christmas present!

Hi, many thanks for your quick reply! I have to admit, I am not sure with the exact model unfortunately - on your pictures, the XF one looks more like the one, but I am really bad with cars - I struggle even distinguish bmw from mercedec... I can only say that it is red...

Is there much difference in them? Or, rather, does the model make a difference when buying a gift? I would ideally like the present to be a romantic one (although this does sound unrealistic, not sure how you can be romantic with buying a gift for the car...)

Personally i would like my girlfriend(or wife) wearing something small and red in my jaguar. That would be a nice christmas gift
past that, vanity plates, or go on jaguars website for aftermarket accessories avail. Everything from insulated car coffee mugs, to body kits etc....

I'm going to lean towards the XF then, mainly because the 2011 was the first year for the XJ, and it didn't come in a 'red' color. The XJ came in a cavier, which was like a deep merlot color. If you mention red, you're thinking of the claret red...

OK then, off to the XF section you go! Best of luck.

I've been given a driving experience in 'stock' race cars...10-years ago, and its by far the best gift I've ever received. If they have anything like that over there, you'll not only get your fair share of romance afterward, he'll never forget the experience (of both hopefully) Win-win for everyone.

They do have track days all over the UK. Most guys respond well to the romance in the car related gift. Most guys secretly or overtly desperately want a track day but not all cars work well on a track. A diesel Jag would not be too crisp on a track.

Cellphone chargers are a good idea but only the ones that plug into the "cigar lighter" socket. For the other type which one uses only if the car has the iPod interface then you need to get the correct wiring connector possibly fom a Jaguar dealer or other knowledgeable source.

Maybe ” borrow” his car for the day and get it clayed and a full detail. As a guy that would be an awesome present to get, and like the guy said above maybe a jag coffee mug sitting in the cup holder.

Depending on how much you want to spend you could get him those lighted door sill plates from Jaguar. They are pricy though at around $600. The door sill lights up when you open the door in the same blue color as the interior. Looks really cool in my opinion but the price is steep.

Here is an example site: Jaguar XF Door Sill Plates at Dealerfit.com

I'd find a local dealer and ask how much to purchase and have them installed.

How about a day at the Jaguar R Performance Academy in the UK? I don't know if it still exists but here's an article on it. Jaguar's performance academy - Autocar.co.uk
