Default chrome pillar covers ?

I was thinking of purchasing a set of chrome pillar covers which would look good with my new chrome "power vents" and chrome rims. But i'm worried that the "peel and stick" covers will look cheesy or fall off in the rain.

Does anyone have this type of peel & stick covers? do they last and look good, or should i skip 'em? Is there a more permanent option?

If the area is well cleaned, and the chrome covers are fitted correctly, the 3M peel and stick add on's are very much up to the job - in fact they will be very difficult to remove.

Don't worry . I have used chrome pillars on our rides and none of them gave bulge except my dad's ride because of its poor quality . However, we also fixed it later
Pick up a sunny weather and make sure the surface is clean .

I had installed them on our S Type (purchased through Mina Gallery).

Trust me once applied they are very difficult to remove!

If you go forward, my advice is to make sure you take your time and postion it correctly, once the 3M tape is applied and if you need to reposition forget it, you will kink the chrome and it is shot. I know I did it. Chris from Mina took pity and sent me a replacement.

Hi,
I am concerned about the change in esthetic look of the car with the chrome pillars. It does create a very new look. Does anyone have any pictures of their S-Type with chrome pillar covers?
Thanks,
Jeff

I'm curious about getting them too. Does the 3M adhesive create any damage to the paint/surface if removed? Don't know why I would remove them, but what if...

No atleast on the pillars.

To remove, a hair dryer and dental floss do wonders. I will tell you from experience, its tough doing it this way.

Some people are not into the chrome thingy. On my wifes vehicle we added alot of Mina chrome all held on with 3M tape. When we are ready to move on from the current S Type, I will let the "new" owner know that the chrome can be removed without damage to any part of the vehicle.

I personally don't like it and think it takes away from the car, but here are some pictures of them on a XF......
