Chrome window trim XF

Chrome window trim XF
Hello All,
I'm new to the forum. I've just taken delivery of a brand new XF sport 2014 model. The car doesn't have the usual chrome window trim (it's now black on the sports models) trouble is I really like the chrome trim. My car is black so the black window trim looks a little boring to be honest. I was aware of this before I ordered the car but now I've had it for a month or so I'm thinking that I'd like to have the black window trim replaced with Chrome trim. Sounds a bit **** I know but could anyone recommend a cost effective way of replacing the trim. A dealer would charge a fortune I know; I've seen the trim for sale on e-bay and I know if its an easy DIY job.
Any advice???

I don't know if you use touchless car washes in the UK, but I do in the US. The OEM chrome window trim is actually aluminum and it oxidizes due to the car wash chemicals in the US and looks quite nasty. I've eliminated the nasty look by coating the aluminum with a water-resistant teflon lubricant and can get through 4 or 5 washes before I have to reapply the lubricant. If the UK car washes use similar chemical formulations, the black-pack aluminum window trim may not be affected as much by them.

I have a black XFR and LOVE the way the chrome and black look in fact had to look hard for one with a chrome grill as many are blacked out. I also added chrome side vents, chrome hood vents and most recently chrome mirrors and pedals (new pics coming soon!).
Good luck & enjoy!
