I just bought a 2013 Jaguar XF. I notice when the steering wheel tilts it makes a clicking sound. It only makes the sound when changing direction, so if it's down and I go up with it. Is the click just the gear/motor engaging for a direction change? Thanks.

I had a clicking sound on mine but i can't recall if it was similar to yours. They changed something out (said it was the steering column -- but I didn't buy that as it only took an hour or so). I think they just changed out the plastic housing covering the column. I don't think it's normal what you're hearing? Is the click constant or do you hear it just as it changes direction?

Not a constant click, it only clicks when changing direction. It just sounds as though something is being engaged for the click.

My 2011 SC started making a sound when moving automatically as I get in an out. This was after about 6 months. The dealer said he "greased" the mechanism. It went away for about three months and is now back. My next service is due, so I'll be back in for service as soon as I can schedule.
