Climate Control

In minus 20C and colder weather my XF pumps out way too much heat to the front footwells on the"Auto" setting. Has anyone else experienced this. I have a lot of expereince with automatic climate control in my other cars and those systems work very well, except for my Alfa Romeo which has the cabin air sensor in the roof and doesn't work well. My Audi and my SAABs both work perfectly and the X Type worked very well except it was a bit chilly on occasion.
It seems odd to be complaining about too much heat in the extreme cold, especially from a British car, but it is unacceptable in this day and age to have defective climate control.

Jaguar uses an air blend system which should deliver cold air to the footwells when required even though the heater core is right there. The heater core is a full flow design and air temperature is supposed to be controlled by mixing unheated (or air conditioned air in the summer season) with the correct amount of heated air from 0 to 100% to achieve the correct temperature.
My XF seems incapable of doing this when the outside air gets too cold.

Any Canadian owners (or cold climate owners) notice this phenomenon? At temperatures below about minus 5C the footwell heat is way too hot. My mechanic measured the difference between the footwell temp and the fac level vent temp at 50C (that's the difference! not the actual temp) with the climate set at 20.5 C.
