It's a fine line between what is ethical and what a dealer does..Sometimes the price reductions are sent out from the corporate Jag offices and that is what the dealer pays for them..so your car more than likely was bought by the dealer from the factory at a 15% higher invoice.

Sucks, I know[&:]

I'm sure the dealer will tell you that they didn't know about pending price reduction; and, I'll bet the fine printin the reduction clearly states that it is not retroactive to previous sales..............

so, try to forget about it and just enjoy your great new ride

This is what happens when people want one "now."

Remember what the Mazda Miata cost when it first came out? How about the Mustang Shelby GT500? The Pontiac Solstice? How about the Wii? The 1st generation iPhone?

Manufacturers build the hype and wait to overcharge those eager first purchasers. Once the newness goes down, so does the price.

It is hard to "sit on your hands" when you want something very badly but it CAN pay off.

Sorry you paid more than you should have. I hope your driving experiences will help put that memory far far away!

Would you pay some more money if the dealer prices went up after you bought?

Suck itup bigboy.

ps please post name of a jaguar dealer who offers 15% discounts. I didn't know there was one anywhere in North America.

Maybe someone's just pulling your chain. Our local dealer is sold out of them. They are going fast without discount.

My local Jag dealership has 32 XF's in stock! I agree the price reduction may be on a demo. Rosenthal Jaguar has ONE XF reduced $10K below the others.

Maybe he reduced the price on a demo?

There are "several" premium luxury models here in Orlando w/$5 -$6K off at the dealer.
I was eyeballing an Indigo bluebase model, but the trade price offeredon my vehiclewascomical ($28K deperciation on an 2005 GMC SUV with only 15K miles on it!), so I'll most likelycome back to the XF when they are a couple of years old.
