Thanks toa fellow XF owner'sreview on Paramount Performance exhaust, I just installed their mufflers only, and wow, what a difference in looks as well as sound and performance. The beast growls like a Jaguar should. Nice deep rumble with zero drone inside. A must for all who are thinking to add some exhaust.
I decided to "debadge" the rear for a cleaner look. (IMHO) Let me know what you think.
Just waiting for my Arden Sports Springs to lower her 35mm (1.5") all around to complete the look.

Would that fellow owner be me on another forum???
Looks good!! I thought I would have initially disliked the leaper on the back, but ever since taking possession of the car I have to say I love it.
I also like the wheels. Coventry, right?
Glad you're happy with the exhaust. I absolutely love mine ever since I ditched the mid-section. Paramount took the mid section back and are giving me a credit towards my next purchase.
I was also looking at lowering springs. Spires also makes some, and will be offering them for sale via Paramount. Not sure what the difference is between the two in terms of quality, if any.
Nice looking car!
Tony

I like it. I took the leaper off my STR. I flat didn't like following a cats butt down the road and to me it just didn't look right. I had to cover the holes left in the hood so I tracked down an emblem for the limited edition 06 XKR (see avatar). To me, a big improvement.
I haven't done it yet but I will remove the S-Type badge on the rear and am even contemplating removing all three R badges. I prefer less automotive jewelry and could give a toss if peeps don't know it's an STR. Less is more so kudos to you...
I am exploring lowering my STR and can't decide between Mina and HR spring sets. I would like a better exhaust system as in X 3.5in with a quieter sound over stock. Yep, quieter not louder and more efficient. I don't want the attention just an even better throttle response from the loud pedal. I prefer ya didn't hear or see me at all.
No, I'm not gonna french the headlights and blank out the door handles. Although dice hanging from the rear view mirror might have merit along with a fuzzy steering wheel cover.

The badges are glued on.
Easiest way to get them off is to heat them up with a hairdryer to soften the glue (not too hot though), then use some dental floss or light fishing line to gently 'saw' through the glue. Just slip it down the back of the badge and make sure you pull it towards yourself a bit to ensure it's clear of the paintwork as you saw away.
Then there are a number of products which can be used to clean up the glue residue, I personally use either eucalyptus or tea tree oil, the best household glue removers I know of. Then clean, polish & wax the paint as per usual.
Disclaimer - I've never removed a badge from my Jag other than a couple of after-market ones I tried but changed my mind about, but I've used this process a few times on previous cars with no problems.
