Denso Gen2.1 IAM2.1 Level 3 Navigation HDD with JaguarVoice Retrofit
This article dedicated of installation of DENSO GEN2.1 IAM2.1 Level 3 Head Unit in facelift Jaguar XF 2011-2015MY.
The Head Unit is the same on XF/XJ/EVOQUE/Range Rover Sport 2014MY/Range Rover 2013MY.
Here is the wiring diagram how all components connected:
When the used DENSO GEN2.1 IAM2.1 Level 3 Head Unit from Evoque 2014MY was found additionally were ordered next spares by LR as cheaper as from Jaguar for total install:
- LR059750 Evoque Roof Antenna with DAB
- LR047982 the adapter from Head Unit to main harness for supply GPS signal
- LR047944 conductor for the supply of DVD video signal from the Head Unit to the Touch Screen Monitor
- LR047939 LVDS conductor for supply Navigation Video Signal from the Head Unit to the Touch Screen Monitor
When the all components for installation were on shelves the work begins:
First step was disconnect roof antenna, for this procedure it is necessary to remove the ceiling light shade of illumination above to the rear seats, after obtaining access to the nuts on which it is fastened
As the roof antenna from Evoque spayed in Black color and I likes the Fin shape of antenna, I’m just reassembly inner parts from Evoque antenna to my factory installed, when it was done the roof antenna return to its place.
Second step was disassembly the center part for access to Touch Screen and Head Unit, hope this video will be useful for understanding of process:
Third step was disassemble of floor console for access for connect LR047982 wiring to main vehicle for supply GPS signal:
The LR047982 plugged to C23-U connector:
The factory installed Head Unit and Touch Screen were extracted, the new one was installed and all necessary harness were plugged.
The fourth step was connecting SDD software and changing CCF file for enabling of Navigation, DVD player and Jaguar Voice, for correct work of new options were made SW updates for some modules such as Touch Screen, Head Unit, Central Junction Box and Gate Module. After these procedures all were tested and assembled.
The first launch, the system indicates the last remembered point
The last step was the learning Jaguar Voice to my commands
Hope this thread helps someone who want to make such kind of retrofit

From what I can tell this is to upgrade a 2012 LCD interface unit to a 2014 LCD interface correct? This will not work for the 2009-2011 right?

This upgrade gives possibility to load DVD (Audio and Video), available for Virtual 10CD Changer (10GB), possibility to steam video from USB stick or USB HDD and Navigation from internal HDD

Hi 08292
Really amasing work, I've also read what seems to be your blog on drive2 (is it yours?) - you've done what I am dreaming to do for my XF 2009MY (NAV, PAI (USB, iPOD, AUX), BT, B&W audio). I
You wrote that this modification is for facelift models only, could you please a bit extend on what is/are stoppers for pre-facelifts? Would dashboard upgrade help?

About such kind mod from Classic XF to Facelift XF ICE system: the main problem is necessary to solve wiring for Facelift head unit, also there some difference in software in CJB and RJB, also you'll need to replace Touchscreen.

I'm thinking for retrofitting InControl system to my XF, but after learning wiring and searching of component ends with no luck, so for present moment likes IAM2.1 system
