DIFFERENT tires/wheels for XF?
im seriously considering buying an XF but i have an issue with its Ride. Im coming from a LS400 lexus so its tough to compare the 2. but im wondering from you car techs what i can get away with on the tires? Id like to go up to a possible60 or something. What can i put on it to get a less rough ride. Please dont say its not the car for me cause i really love it and think with a little mod. it could be perfect for me.

RE: DIFFERENT tires/wheels for XF?
just had my second test drive....this time with the 18" they put 45's on those instead of 35 or whateverit was which gave it a better ride.
i also saw in the manual they offer 17's but my clueless salesmen failed to offer that. i knew more about the car than him!
Back to my main question tho....anyone know if i can get a higher profile tire?

You can get a higher profile with a narrower tire. I am notsure of the math involved in figuring it out, but the overall rolling radius needs to be equivalent to the tire that is on the car you buy. Vehicle relies on wheel speed and abs to operate correctly based on the rolling tire size.

245/50x17 is the tallest correct size. There is one factory wheel and a few aftermarket optional wheels that take that size. 235/55x17 also fits as that is the correct winter tire size. Same sidewall height though and slightly less air volume than the 245/50 x 17.
